Home elevation is a wet flood mitigationmethod in which the house is lifted above thebase flood elevation and supported by newpiers and beams. It is ideally suited forconcrete slab on grade foundations withperimeter grade beams. Other wet floodmitigation methods include demolition andrelocation.This simple tool will allow users to find out if the desired elevation pattern is safe, minimizing the potential for future slab failure with property damage and casualties. It can be used with minimal technical knowhow and training. With a few inputs on pier, beam, and slab details, the tool will inform on whether the arrangement is safe to carry the floor loads.
